Two Nights In Vegas With Tenkara Talk

Tenkara Talk and I had a fun time in Vegas...it even let me take some pictures...you know to enter that contest...

The flight out was uneventful.  Wish the plane had WiFi though...
Feet on the ground, we hit the ground running...
I think this is my "official entry."  If only there were 3.
Me too...
Things only went downhill from here...

I'd show more pictures, but to be honest, it's better that Jason not see them...  See Tenkara Talk got a little out of control.

The first misstep was when it insisted on buying one of those foot long frozen margaritas...then it started acting belligerent to a group of baitcasters.  Called them a bunch of "word for cats."  Luckily they laughed it off.

After stumbling around it somehow picked up a Ross Reel from a bachelorette party and tried to take it back to the room.  Hated to do it, but I had to step in as a c#ckblock, I wasn't sleeping on the floor...we almost came to blows over the whole situation.  It was an ugly scene, but I guess that's Vegas.

If all goes well, we're headed home today.  Hopefully Tenkara Talk's new piercings get through airport security...

Tenkara Tuesday - What Happens In Vegas...

Welcome to Tenkara Tuesday.

Tenkara Tuesday alum Jason Klass of Tenkara Talk fame recently posted a free sticker offer in conjunction with a tenkara gear giveaway he was holding to promote his blog.  Unfortunately, as I once learned the hard way, whenever you promote something as "free," even something as small as a sticker, the crazies come out of the woodwork and ruin the fun for everyone.

Luckily, I was one of the fortunate folks that got a Tenkara Talk sticker before the freakshow started.

This week, my work is putting me on a plane again.  Instead of South, now we're talkin' West.  Las Vegas, Nevada to be exact.  While it will be 3 days full of drinking convention and trade show activities (no, I won't be here...and I'll miss this one by a week...), I thought it might be fun to bring the Tenkara Talk sticker with me so I can craft my entry into Jason's contest in some of my down time.

Where will Tenkara Talk show up?  You'll have to wait and see...

Home From Vegas 2K10

Back from Vegas.  Phew...   Wasn't sure I'd write a blog post tonight to recap, as I had to catch up on some bills, and of course watch Game One of my Phillies in the NLDS.  Thankfully they were generous enough to start the game early and...oh yeah...some pitcher threw a no hitter too.

Anyway, back to Vegas.  I've been to Vegas quite a few times over the years - actually got married there almost 9 years ago - so despite the comments in my last post, it wasn't a new or scary experience.  That said, every time I go back, there always seems to be something new to do or see, which is fine by me.

There was no fishing on this trip although Lake Powell & Lake Mead aren't that far away and stripers could have probably been easily had.  Stripers, as in bass; not strippers, although I'm sure they could have easily been had as well.  No shooting off any guns either - sorry Wolfy & Dennis - didn't get around to bustin' caps in anything - this time.

So what did I do?  Besides crash a wedding, mostly a lot of eating and drinking.  Luckily (I think), I lost more money to bartenders than I did table games or slot machines.  The Luxor hotel ain't the best, however beer makes everything okay.

Here are pics of some stuff with captions.  Didn't take a lot of pictures, but they should tell at least some of the story...the rest will have to stay back in Vegas where it belongs.
View out the plane window - think there's some fish in that water?
K.C. with "Elvis" & "Marilyn"
It liked to be scratched on the chin
Runnin' with the wolves
Uhhhh?
Fremont Street Experience - featuring Queen
Another Fremont Street Experience - featuring Bad Female Elvis?...
...and Michael Jackson?...
...and Bret Michaels & another Bad Elvis?...
...and KISS!!!!!!!
I want his suit (wish the pic was better to reflect its magnificence)
Troutrageous Mardi Gras beads
K.C. getting her frozen drank on - in refillable mug.
Yeah, we're classy folks.
View from Ballys
Thought Casey might like this one from the Bellagio gardens
Very Hobbit-esque
We got married right here about 8 and a half years ago.
Except back then, there was a lagoon & waterfall rather than a paved over pool deck.
At least the good 'ol Tropicana is still standing.

Ok, enough about me in Vegas; I'm now off to catch up with what you guys have been up to.  I've got about about 4 or 5 days worth of your posts I need to catch up on.  See you in the comments section.

My New Favorite Store - If My Name Was John Rambo

No fishing going on this weekend, again.

This time in Vegas; kinda being a wedding crasher. One of my wife's friend's friend is getting married.  I think my wife is friendly with the bride, but I've certainly never met anyone in the wedding party.

Me?  Just trying to behave myself - but between all the booze, gambling, skin (you know what I mean), and THIS...there are so many bad influences out here...

Please say a prayer for my safe return.
